Our 38 Years Of Success Story
Incorporated in 1982
ABHINAV GEMS was founded by Mr Dipak Jhaveri in 1982 when he was merely twenty four years old. Despite not having enough experience in the trade of pearls and diamonds, his ambition for success and his vision for gemstones guided him to come to Japan and set foot in this trade to make giant leaps forward.
Development of local business
Mr. Dipak started with purchasing of raw material of keshi which were in high demand in India at that moment. In a very short span of time, he made a name for himself. His ambitions pushed him to explore diamonds and cultured pearls as well. Mr. Dipak became a wholesaler and manufacturer of Akoya pearl necklace which helped him gain a lot of knowledge about the trade.
Expansion through International Markets
In the 1990's, however, demand for cultured pearls and diamonds started to slow down, which encouraged him to explore a new category of cultured pearls-- South Sea and Tahitian pearls. These pearls which were rare in the 1990's, were now commercially available in large quantities. Initially, the business was catering to small wholesalers and retail traders. However, in 2002, the firm took part for the first time in international exhibitions in Japan and Hong Kong which helped build foreign buyers who were mainly focused on the wholesale trade.
Abhinav Gems Co Ltd, today has expanded its market by participating in almost ten different international trade shows in a year with buyers from India, South East Asia, China, Europe, US, and Far East Asia. It owes its success to its consumer loyalty and trust that they have with its team. The firm today is led by its new director, Hemish Jhaveri, who believes in excellence, quality and maintaining the standard that has been set by his father over the past 38 years.
